Apply a scented lotion to your body while it is still slightly damp from the shower. Where should you apply your scented lotion. Well, I’m a fluffy kind of girl. If you are like me, you have a couple “fluffy girl” areas that tend to sweat more. Our Inner thigh, rump and back thigh (especially if your job has you sitting most of the time), under our breasts, the area between our elbow and under arm (Do not apply lotion to your underarm. Deodorant is needed there!), right under your lower belly roll. Don’t act crazy ladies. If you are a fluffy girl, you know exactly what I am talking about. lol I apply my scented lotion to these areas as soon as I step out of the shower.
Apply a scented powder. I must be honest. I don’t do this step. Why? I haven’t mastered a way to get it on without showering my bathroom with powder. lol Plus, skipping this step has not negatively affected my scent. But, I know many women that apply scented powder to their under arms (after deodorant has been applied) and under their boobs.
Follow up your layering process with your perfume. Where should you apply it? I apply it to all of my pressure points and my “fluffy girl” areas.
**DO NOT APPLY SHOWER GEL, SCENTED LOTION, SCENTED POWDER OR PERFUME TO YOUR VAGINAL AREA. If you do, you will most likely upset your “girlie part” and cause her to lash out at you with infections. She will begin to smell bad, you’ll begin to cramp badly and need antibiotics to heal her.

I had absolutely no clue what Eczema was!! Standing in the doctors office, holding my first born and looking at her doctor in disbelief. What is he trying to tell me??? My mind couldn’t comprehend what he was saying about my perfect chocolate baby girl. But, as I looked at her, I could clearly see something wasn’t completely right.
She had perfectly soft baby skin all over. Until you got to her inner elbow. There was this darker patchy skin that wouldn’t go away no matter what I placed on it.
I guess the doctor realized I was going into worried Mommy mode and helped me understand what Eczema is. Basically it is just an allergic condition. Your symptoms range from swollen skin to itchy dry skin. It just depends on what type of eczema you have. Most flare ups are preventable as long as you pay attention to what triggers your allergy.
So now that I know my baby has this issue, what can I do to prevent flare ups on her soft baby skin. I’ll just focus on the issues I had to experience with my baby.
Pay close attention to irritants! What is an irritant? Anything that makes your symptoms worse.
Soaps and detergents
Hot weather
Shampoos, dish-washing liquids
Moisturizer
Bubble Bath
Disinfectants like chlorine
Stress
Food

Yes, when you have eczema, any of these things can cause a flare up. Our known irritants were bubble bath and properly moisturizing her skin. I tested a couple soaps and bubble baths, but, everything seemed to irritate her skin. Until I tried Avons Bubble Delight. WOW! This stuff was amazing! The have 8 to 10 different scents you can choose from including one for sensitive skin. The sensitive skin formula is lightly scented with notes of chamomile and freesia. I love that the bubble bath is sensitive, but, they are able to give it an inviting scent. I used this when ever any of my kids took a bath and we never had any problems with flare ups. I even accidentally used one of Avons other bubble baths that are not “made” for sensitive skin. She did not have a flare up at all. Wow! If you have a child with Eczema, you understand the worry we experience when they are exposed to a new irritant. But, secretly I think all of Avons bubble baths can be used for sensitive skin. I now use all versions of their bubble bath and never have any problems with them.
Side Note! Moms are going to LOVE this. A friend of mine told me the bubble bath will NEVER leave a ring in your bath tub. I laughed because every time you sit a child in the bath tub, a ring begins to form. So I tested her theory for one week. I allowed all of my daughters to take a bath every day for a week. On Saturday, much to my surprise, there wasn’t a ring around the rub. WOW!!! If you have children that take baths VERY night, you understand the dreaded ring around the tub. But, there is something in the bubble bath that prohibits dirt from attaching itself to the bath tub. I have no clue what it is….BUT I LOVE IT!!! LOL
Next I had to find a moisturizer that works on her skin. She couldn’t use any basic lotion. Some of them felt like I was applying water to her skin. They never worked. Then I decided to test out Avon’s products. Right now, there are 3 different products she uses that properly prevents inflammations while moisturizing her skin.

#1 – Moisture Therapy Derma Soothing Body Wash – People with Eczema want a body wash that is going to do the job of cleaning the body without being too harsh on sensitive skin. I love this because it doesn’t over dry her eczema prone skin. It has vitamin E, aloe and chamomile that helps soothes skin.
We alternate the type of moisturizer she uses on her face and neck.
We always invest in the Bonus Size Body Lotion. It just makes application easier. The bonus size body lotions all come with a pump. We have one in each bathroom and bedroom. I’ll be honest. We don’t have a preference regarding which Body Lotion we use. They all work wonders. If we had to choose our top picks, I guess it would be Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing Repair Body Lotion, Moisture Therapy Daily Skin Defense and Skin So Soft Original Body Lotion. Each of these provides the proper amount of moisture to keep skin from flaring up.

May daughter was even able to visit our neighborhood pool daily without any flare ups. Chlorine can really create a horrible situation for people that have eczema. As long as I properly moisturized her skin as soon as she washed off all the chlorine, she didn’t have any problems.

Tips for preventing flare ups!
Know what triggers your eczema. Avoid any behavior that would cause a flare up.
Moisturize your skin at least 2 to 3 times a day.
Wear comfortable clothes that don’t irritate your skin.
Remove dust from your home regularly.
Choose a A fragrance-free, neutral pH detergent on your clothes.
Watch what you are eating. Food allergies have been known to trigger Eczema flare ups. Your doctor can perform several tests to determine what you are allergic to.
